Farewell for Linda Dessert

Flourless chocolate cake, served warm and melting with ice cream. A fitting farewell for Linda.

FAREWELL LUNCHEON FOR LINDA

A Farewell Luncheon for Linda Aman, seated center, a fabulous artist who is moving to Boise. We will miss her many-splendered talents, but she promises to come back and forth. Who knows, we may make a road trip (of two) to Boise. After all, some of us have another dear, departed artist friend in Boise named Arayna, who we can also visit.

ABISH

This painting represents the story of Ancient Native Americans about the year 90 BC. I wanted to capture it with their gold, torqouise and copper in the culture they might have known. I hoped it might look like an actual painting that might have been taken from the wall of their Palace as if it had been recently unearthed by archaelogists today, 2,098 years later.

It is the story of King Lamoni, who is just awaking from being in a coma, aided by his wife, the Queen, who preceeded him in regaining consciousness from also being in a coma. A Servant Woman named Abish, assisted them in their recovery. The people of the Kingdom are watching, as they thought their King had died and now see that he has not.
